MOTERWRITER.COM reviews the latest hit novel – Tears of a Heart
Author Chase Blackwood’s novel takes you on a journey of a lifetime through a fantasy world
Chase Blackwood’s novel, ‘Tears of a Heart’ is the first book in the Kan Savasci Cycle series of books. It narrates the tale of a boy Kirin D'Velt, a rebel and a daydreamer and the lone son of a murdered father. His father Kovor a village chief and all his subjects were massacred by an evil force. Left on his own, he soon joins the company of monks who take him under their wings and nurture his mind and soul. After many deliberations, internal conflicts and a change of name, Kirin/Aeden sets out on a journey in which he discovers his true purpose and fate in this world.
If you enjoy painting pictures in your mind as you read books, then you are bound to enjoy ‘Tears of a Heart’, as you will enjoy getting carried away to a distant and yet familiar world. The book weaves a path that twists and turns and travels through the depths of a human life experience. By the end of the book, readers everywhere are sure to connect with the lead character of Kirin/Aeden in a deeper, spiritual level. ‘Tears of a Heart’ doesn’t rely on some deep story driven plot to move forward, it rather shows the four stages in a young man’s life, the various transformations that he undergoes and in the process, the author provides lots of hints as to what one can expect in the forthcoming books in this series.
“The lead character of my book has been presented in a unique way, in that; ample time has been spent in establishing the credentials of his legacy which will be explored in detail in the coming books.” Chase told us when we interviewed him in connection with the book’s promotion. When we spoke with a few readers at an online book forum who had finished reading the book they said Tears of a Heart was a delightful look into a very special world inhabited by a truly remarkable young man. They went on to compliment the author's use of language, which they termed as skilfully charming and inventive. Kevin Peter who reviewed the book for Moterwriter.com said that Tears of a Heart was a special book which went beyond the usual capacity of a fantasy book and likened it to the scale set in a book like ‘The Book Of Mirdad’. He was also particularly impressed by how well the author developed his leading character, Aeden and managed to show the changes and transformations in a realistic manner.
About the author:
Chase Blackwood has had the fortune of travelling since an early age. This led to years spent abroad, in a variety of fields. Learning languages rather quickly, the author used that advantage in studying martial arts, culminating in training under a number of masters in the orient for a few years.
Having visited nearly 50 countries and then living in a half a dozen of them has helped him form rich experiences which have shaped his writing, allowing for greater depth and more vivid imagery, along with a better understanding of the human condition. He has also spent time conducting research in the field of biotech, worked as a physical trainer, martial arts instructor, worked with an orthopedic physical therapist, and has enjoyed the field of health for nearly two decades. The author has earned a few college degrees, served in the U.S. Military, and as a Federal Agent. Writing however has always been one of his passions, and the author has never once let the pen down.
